At Newport Sings, we believe that music is for everyone. You don’t need to read sheet music, have a perfect pitch, or ever have sung in a choir before to raise your voice in song. That’s the heart of Community Sing—a welcoming, no-pressure gathering where everyone is invited to join in, just as they are.

What Is a Community Sing?

A Community Sing is exactly what it sounds like: a joyful, informal opportunity for people of all ages and backgrounds to come together and sing. No auditions.  No experience required. Whether you sing in the shower or haven’t sung out loud in years, you're in the right place.

Led by a professional song leader, each Community Sing is an uplifting, interactive experience that focuses on connection and celebration through music. You’ll learn simple songs by ear, often rooted in folk, world, or contemporary traditions. It’s about participation, not perfection.

One of the most powerful aspects of Community Sing is its inclusive nature. These gatherings are designed to break down barriers—between ages, abilities, and identities—and create space for genuine connection.
