ABOUT AQUIDNECK SINGERS
History
The Aquidneck Singers is a 60-member multigenerational treble chorus that was founded by Elizabeth Woodhouse in September 2019.
Aquidneck Singers rehearses from mid-September to mid-December and late January to early May and performs in two concerts: the Newport Sings Winter Concert in mid-December and Song Fest in early May.

The Aquidneck Singers, led by Elizabeth Woodhouse and pianist Jan Navarro, learn and perform a variety of music including music from many cultures and in other languages, in diverse styles and from different time periods. Rehearsals are fun and engaging. Singers have the opportunity to explore and develop their unique voice as well as learn skills to become more confident musicians. No matter what your previous musical experience and background, the Aquidneck Singers will allow you to grow and have fun doing it!
Rehearsals take place on Tuesdays, 5:30 - 7:00 pm at Common Fence Point Community Hall (933 Anthony Road, Portsmouth).
2026 - 2027 important dates (as of May 2026)
Fall
Tuesday, September 15: Aquidneck Singers welcome picnic
Tuesday, September 22: First rehearsal fall semester
Saturday, December 12: Newport Sings Winter concert (time and location TBD)
Spring
Tuesday, January 19: First rehearsal spring semester
Friday, April 30: Song Fest dress rehearsal (evening)
Saturday, May 1: Song Fest concert (4:00 pm concert, Portsmouth Middle School)
There is a sliding scale tuition ranging from $20 - $75 per semester.
