At Newport Sings, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to find their voice—and the Newport County Youth Chorus (NCYC) is where that journey begins.

What is NCYC?

The Newport County Youth Chorus (NCYC) is more than just a children’s choir. It’s a welcoming, inclusive space where kids in grades 1-6 across Newport County come together to explore the joy of singing, develop confidence, and build lifelong skills through the power of music.

Whether your child dreams of becoming a performer or simply wants to try something new, NCYC provides a fun and supportive community where young singers can thrive—no audition required.

Music Education That Builds More Than Skill

Through engaging weekly rehearsals and dynamic performances, NCYC offers high-quality music education for kids led by professional teaching artists. But the impact goes beyond music. Participants in NCYC learn:

Accessible for All Families

We know that not every family can afford private music lessons or expensive extracurriculars. That’s why NCYC is completely free to join. Thanks to generous support from our community partners and donors, we’re able to keep participation accessible to all—regardless of financial background.

We also offer rehearsals at multiple locations throughout Newport County, making it easier for families to get involved no matter where they live.
