Prep Chorus for students in grades 1 - 3

* Pell Elementary students can opt to the the bus from Pell to the MLK Center.

Session 1: Broadway Showtunes
September 19 - October 19 (5 classes)
We're kicking off the year with some of our favorite songs from Broadway musicals!
The session culminates in a sharing for friends and family at the final class.
Session 2: Songs of Celebration
October 24 - December 7 (6 classes); no class 11/7 or 11/23
There is a lot to celebrate this time of year. We will sing songs from all around the world, learning about how different cultures incorporate music into their celebrations!
Participants will perform the session 2 songs at the CCNC Winter Concert on Saturday, December 9 at Calvary United Methodist Church.
Session 3: Singing Our Community
January 23 - March 7 (6 classes); no class 2/20 or 2/22
We're learning music that represents OUR community. We can't wait to learn about the music that is special to our singers and our neighbors.
Session 3 culminates in a special community performance. Details coming soon.
Session 4: The Elements
March 12 - May 2 (6-7 classes); no class 4/2, 4/16, 4/18
Singers will learn a variety of music all about the elements - earth, wind, air and fire - that includes soulful tunes and lively Jamaican beats. Participants will get to perform at the Newport Sings “Song Fest” on Saturday, May 4.
